Austrian Franchise Association relies on YIELD for communication

In 2025, the communications agency YIELD expanded its client portfolio to include the Austrian Franchise Association (ÖFV). The ÖFV represents the interests of around 500 franchise systems and their more than 10,000 franchise partners throughout Austria. A new communications strategy is intended to increase the association's visibility and bring the interests of the industry to the attention of the public.

30 years of Austrian franchising: 90,000 jobs, €12 billion in revenue

For more than 30 years, the association has been promoting the Austrian franchise industry and fostering exchange between the sector and key partners from business and politics. The network comprises over 13,000 locations from more than 10,000 franchise partners and creates more than 90,000 jobs. With an annual net turnover of around 12 billion euros, franchising is also an important economic factor in Austria. "One of the core tasks of our association is to help our members achieve their full economic potential and to raise awareness of franchising. To achieve these goals, we are realigning our communication and relying on YIELD's many years of broad expertise. The agency's successful work in a wide range of industries was a decisive factor in our decision," explains Karin Kufner-Humer, Secretary General of the ÖFV.

Width as a connecting element

Just like YIELD, the ÖFV represents a wide range of industries and company sizes. This common ground forms a solid foundation for responding specifically to the needs and requirements of the association. “The ÖFV is similar to us in many ways. Thanks to our communications experience across almost all areas of the economy, we are the ideal communications partner for such a diverse interest group,” says Alexander Langgruber, managing director and founder of YIELD, expressing his delight at the addition to the portfolio.

Effective teamwork

A dedicated team consisting of Alexander Langgruber, Muamer Becirovic, and Kevin Puntschart is working on developing the new communication strategy. The focus is on media coverage of association events such as the Franchise Award, highlighting best practice examples, and communicating key topics such as franchising as an economic factor. “It is important to us to convey to people what franchising really means and how present it is in our everyday lives—much more so than one might initially think. A central point in our communication will also be the franchise statistics, which we collect every two years and will present again this year,” says Martin Zagler, President of the ÖFV.

About the Austrian Franchise Association

With over 500 franchise systems, nearly 13,000 locations, over 10,000 franchise partners, more than 90,000 employees, and annual net sales of around €12 billion, franchising in Austria is clearly on a growth trajectory. The Austrian Franchise Association (ÖFV) was founded in 1986 and has been representing the interests of the Austrian franchise industry for over 30 years. It is committed to connecting franchisors, franchise partners, franchise experts, and interested parties. As the central representative of the Austrian franchise industry and an integrative driving force within the franchise industry, the association represents the interests of its members in the public sphere and promotes exchange with business, science, politics, and the public.
